What Is The True Essence of Christmas?

it's a beautiful day, it's Christmas eve... Jacintha and Kaylah two students of a certain institution in England are walking to town


Jacintha: ''yaaaaay!!! it's finally here!''
Kaylah: (confused) ''what is here?''
Jacintha: ''duh Christmas of course'' (with a massive grin)

Kaylah: ''oh, I see... this one that you're overly excited you must really love Jesus.. because...''

(Jacintha interrupts)

Jacintha: ''huh, pleases calm down babe, why so serious?... out of all the things in the world that Christmas entails, it's Jesus that...''

(Kaylah interrupts..)

Kaylah: ''...It's Jesus that what? ehn?! don't you even see the word CHRISTMAS! begins with the word Christ, that's the main purpose my dear, to worship Christ...remember His birth....''
Jacintha: ehen Pastor of the year! tell me more, preach on sister! (laughs then pulls a straight face immediately) now it's my turn to 'preach' (draws an imaginary quotation mark in the air with her fingers)
Kaylah: ''yes ma, i'm all ears..'' 
Jacintha: ''better! Christmas is a time to give gifts, eat turkey or chicken, be with family errm if the money for ticket is not too expensive.... Jokes o, err read for your January exam! but the best part is that boxing day sales fam! I mean, last year i got these mad shoes for five quid, original price fifty five quid.. be doing ''Jesus is the reason for the season'' there don't go for the sales k.. infact you people are funny, because of one line of rhyme we wouldn't hear word again? issorai... plus where in the bible does it say December is the month to remember Christ or how did you say it sef... remember Him all year k, but boxing day sales happens only on boxing day... during christmas! ok.. so basically that's the reason for the season!!'' (adds quickly) ''and oh, turkey of course''
Kaylah: ''calm down sweetie, no need to press p'' (giggles) ''you're right Christmas includes all of the things you have mentioned, but it isn't the true meaning or essence of Christmas. Christmas is a time to remember the birth of Christ and worship Him, be excited about the birth of the King like the ''wise men'' not like I don't look forward to the sales or all the goodies that come with the season, all i'm saying is that in all of it remember it's true meaning, why there is something called Christmas in the first place... ya dig?''
Jacintha: (takes a deep breath) ''Ok fine, agreed...'' (sarcastic) ''not like I didn't know this..''
Kaylah: ''Of course you do, most of us do.. we have just been distracted by these other stuffs...''
Jacintha: ''yes ma, enough of Christmas talk, how's that dude you met, err Ryan..'' (winks at Kaylah) ''start gisting me fast and stop blushing!''

My dearest readers, let's not forget the true meaning of Christmas which is Christ, Just have that somewhere in your mind while you enjoy every other thing. 25th of December is the accepted day around the world to celebrate the birthday of Jesus Christ, so don't celebrate the birthday without the celebrant. Have a Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year.

Busy pointing fingers?

So you go around talking about people, saying how you do not like how your friend talks or acts etc. Some people can write a book on the bad attitudes another person has, saying ''how I pity her, If she doesn't change ehn.....'' and then you get more people to join you in your ''analysis club'' and someone outside this 'club' can be the topic of discussion for a whole night. You are so caught up in noticing the wrong in others, going around saying how a person has a bad attitude... most times what we say about other peoples attitudes are right, YES! but being a good 'observer' have you sat down to observe and analyze your bad attitudes? or you think you're a perfect angel that fell from heaven?, nothing's wrong with your attitude as well?

In case I didn't make sense in the first paragraph here's a scenario that will make my point clearer
Two friends, both ladies... one of them was always with one guy or the other doing as many things as you can imagine. The other friend never hesitated to tell who ever cares to listen how she didn't like how her friend behaved and her many 'relationships' how it isn't good and all, how God will not be happy with her. Obviously this is true and people agreed with her. But our 'Holy sister' on the other hand wasn't any different just that she 'packaged' hers lol, Unlike her friend who did hers for all to see, this other girl kept her 'runs' a secrete, she had a boyfriend but still had 'friends with benefit' and the other things similar to that, She called it having fun, she claimed it wasn't anything close to what her friend was doing (all these defenses came up after she had been caught tho)....
Good Lord have mercy on this 'Holy' girl who was judging the other, pointing her filthy fingers!!!!!

The Bible says in Matthew 7:1-5“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

There's nothing wrong with letting a friend know a bad attitude they need to drop, but while you're at it make sure you're not guilty. Make sure your hands are clean before you start to point fingers. Sometimes I see myself battling with this area in my life, I can easily put words together to let people know how this particular thing they're doing isn't right, but when I do these things the same way it feels right... if at all we must point fingers make sure we point at the ''man in the mirror'' first. Do not forget that as you're pointing that one finger, YOUR other four fingers are pointing right back at you. 

God help us all

Taken For Granted!!!!

Hi guys, before I go into what I have to say I just want to thank you guys for supporting me, reading and commenting on my posts and all, thank you.


So we set our alarms for 6:30am and we wake up as soon as it starts to sound, your phone rings and the person at the other end of the line asked ''hey, what are your plans for next Friday?'' and you reply with so much confidence listing out what you have planned out for that Friday....
You say your graduation year without even thinking twice, you fantasize about your future partner and family, number of kids you'll have etc, you get ill take a couple of cheap tablets and get well after a few days, so when you have a headache you just feel ''oh I'll just get some pain killers and I'll be fine''.

We all have taken God's grace for granted...

A day might come that you will set your alarm clock and that wouldn't wake you. Friday might come and you wouldn't be able to carry out your plans, It could be due to anything. Your graduation year isn't in your hands or in the hands of your institution, anything can come up at just anytime, it's in God's hands. So many ladies might have imagined how their dads would walk them down the aisle but before their ''big day'' he dies. So many things we have taken for granted, we need to realise that our lives and everything about it are in Gods hands, we need to realise He is in control, He created us and all can be taken in a second!!!!

It is by God's mercy you wake up daily, He has given you all you think you have, He owns you. Having said all these, you will agree with me that He needs to be appreciated, leave everything you have to Him. Before you take any step ask Him, don't just get out of bed without thanking Him. Yes, It's your life, BUT YOU DO NOT OWN IT.

Do not take God for granted, I know I do sometimes and that's the first step.... realise and accept you do, then work towards NOT taking His grace for granted...

My twisted 'Fairytale'

I started my life happy, no rules 'coz they weren't necessary.. no 'fleshly desires' I was totally innocent, wasn't aware of 'bad stuffs'. The only best friends I had were my family and baby Jesus who was born in a manger. I was always excited and my 'best friends' had an unconditional love for me. No FAKE friends, they were all real, No best food, loved everything mama made. No headaches on what to eat? Wear? Or anything like that. I wet the bed and it wasn't a big deal. I hardly walked, everyone took turns to 'carry' me.
I could come out in my underwear to say hi to a guest and it was ok....

Then I grew up

I'll Just go through the developments quickly

Had to leave my family to go to school, Maths now included alphabets :(
Fake friends came along, I get some conditions or rules in order to be friends with someone. (Even if everyone doesn't make the rules clear, you know deep down ''to be friends with 'this person' you can't fold the edges of her novel'' (just an example lol)

I have to think of what to eat and wear.
I don't get reminded to do my homework anymore, I realised I had to 'feed' myself spiritually, I had to 'want' to know God, no aunties or uncles to teach what the bible says as I usually had when I was younger. Mummy wouldn't come to tell me how many times to cover myself with the blood of Jesus before I slept, I had to remember myself...
Even Jesus grew up: I mean all I knew was the One who was born in a manger, but I grew up to realise there was more.. He worked, was a teacher, he even died!
I started seeing the 'monthly guest' *sigh*
Boys started coming, I had to think of how to say NO nicely :)  :(
I had to make fancy hairstyles, which are more expensive than making 'kiko' (twisting my hair in thread) lol *deep sigh*

I'm not gonna take much of time..

My point is... My 'fairytale' has quite a twist, it's the opposite of your usual happy endings!! I went from 'Cinderella in the Carriage' to the 'Cinderella with the mop and napkins'.

 

Note: I'm still a very 'happy' individual but NOT as 'happy' as i used to be.

 

Just a few words...

You are weak but behind you is a strong God

You are beautiful in the sight of God

You shouldn't trust the desires of sin more than you trust God

You shouldn't allow temporary anger cause you to have permanent regrets

Instead of dwelling on all you've lost, why don't you count your blessings on all you still have

Don't let what people say pull you down!

Allow God rule your life if you must give it a meaning

In all situations give thanks

Be careful what you wish for: the tongue is powerful

Be positive!

Helping cannot hurt you, but people you help can hurt you... Don't let the people you help stop you from helping, because helping helps you

Call Christianity old fashioned....yes! My God is the ancient of days
BUT
He's the ''same yesterday, today and forever'' (Heb 13:8). You wanna stay young, stay with Him

When you win a lottery it is ''so how are WE gonna spend the money''.... when you're in trouble it is ''so what are YOU gonna do now?...''

Grace is not your passport to live in sin. It is the gift of God to live above sin

The bible says ''love is not easily angered''. It doesn't say love never gets angry at all.

Being angry is not a sin, it becomes a sin when you allow it to push you into destructive behavior.

''The heart of man is desperately wicked'' (Jeremiah 17:9)

Encouragement: keeps you going
Endurance: keeps you standing
Faith: takes you an extra mile

How do you see it?

Most times, there's more than one way to look at things, quick example: half of an apple is rotten and the other half is perfectly 'fresh n crunchy' BUT most of us would throw away that apple anyway, even if someone sees the good side you quickly let them know ''NO! don't eat it, that's a bad apple''

Enough of the talking in parables lol

Nobody's life is perfect, but are you dwelling on your imperfections and thinking 'nothing good can come out of me'', how have you chosen to look at your life because no matter what you think you're going through there's still something to be thankful for, at least even if for nothing else, for the air you breath, FOR LIFE!

Let me say a little about me, this year hasn't been going so well.. and everyday I wake up and I pray, all I can think of is 'the bad' that's going on in my life, I pray for God to do something about it, I keep asking ''why me?''... But my friends and I talked one day, realizing how lots of people our age have died, lost there parents e.t.c If these people could be given another chance (i mean to come back to life) I'm sure they would say ''even if I'm poor or ugly this time I don't care, I just want to see my mum again and give her a hug'' or something like that. Then  it came to me that I just might be an ingrate because I'm alive, I have food, I have cloths, shoes, my wonderful parents and my beautiful sister are still with me, they're alive too! My friends are alive!

....then I realized that I have more than I don't have. I had been looking from the wrong side!

Start to look from the right side today, not saying you should ignore/stop praying about what you're going through but just don't dwell on the fact that you think ''bad things'' are going on in your life ''when there's is life there is hope'' You can only get what the future holds when you let go of the past!

....be thankful to God for everything
when you start to think ''this way'' things would somehow fall in place and you'll testify!

P.S Don't think you're in the worst situation in life, millions of people are going through a lot worse than you can imagine

THE SILENT KILLER!!!!

Silently he knocks on the door, but he's a stranger and you're reluctant to open.. you probably yell at him to go away or for the nice ones ask ''what do you want?'' or ''how can I help you?''. he convinces you to open up to him and of course a sane person would refuse to open to a stranger!. But then this stranger doesn't give up that easy. so you go to your window to try and talk to him and get him to leave, and then he lets you know he brought you gifts and he'll probably say ''oh no, I wouldn't hurt you, I'm a friend'' *with a warm smile*. he convinces you to let him in, lets you know he has a lot of 'goodies' to offer.

...Finally, you let him in, you get overwhelmed with all the gifts that you ignore the guest you had been with earlier and didn't even notice when He left :(
Its so fun, you might be thinking 'why didn't i know you long before now....' or 'where have you been all my life..' I mean why wouldn't you want a friend who is such a ''cheerful giver'' yeah, he suddenly becomes your friend. You accept all the gifts, carefully put them in places and they all look beautiful in your home.... BUT SUDDENLY the smile on his face fades! he then starts to make requests in return for the gift he gave (by this time you had already lost touch with your friend you ignored earlier because of the gifts) and initially you thought 'oh, that something i can give, its not a big deal' but as time goes on he's request become to expensive to give, and then you become broke to even feed yourself, you begin to 'starve', you get so lean... you try to get rid of him then he gives a few more gifts and you embrace him and think 'you're such a good friend' but he goes back to his request and you sell everything you have to pay back but somehow the debt refuses to end! ...and then the stress and lack of your 'daily bread' makes you weak and starve and slowly you know deep down that you're gonna be taking your last breath soon! and then you think even if you've lost everything, your friend would still be around and there for you BUT you see a note beside you from your guest the next morning 'I'm sorry I couldn't wait for you to get up, had to leave immediately, I have to visit someone else, my mission here is accomplished! and I'm not sure i said my name, people call me Satan.. but I'll say I'm the SILENT KILLER''
.....and then the time comes, and you take your last breath!!!

LIFE is a temporary preparation for ETERNITY

We were born in sin, shaped in inequity, we were open to do all types of sin. But you shouldn't be manipulated by your flesh. We shouldn't let sin take the best part of us, we need to stay strong and allow God's plans in our lives come to pass. God has a plan for each and everyone of us, but that stronghold known as flesh can be a setback. These are the last days and everyone's ultimate goal should be to make heaven! well, mine is...and you wouldn't want to die without allowing God's great plan in your life manifest. LIFE is a temporary preparation for eternity, the preparation here is doing what God has put you here on earth to do and every morning you wake up is another chance to do these things... oh, you think the giver of life (God) can't decide to take it anytime He pleases, He sure can, but you're privileged to have another chance to do your assignment before it's ''due for submission''.

What is my assignment? how do I discover mine? well, everyone has his/her special God given talent. BUT! there are certain things you don't have to discover, you just have to do them. letting people know about Jesus is one major assignment, because you have to get everyone to know Him so they could also have a chance to make heaven and even perform their earthly requirements ,you don't have to say too much and get frustrated when someone disagrees or something. All you need do is drop the word ''hey, Jesus loves you'' or anything, just spread the 'good news'. In life you have to DO SOMETHING. you don't want to die and not be remembered for anything. However, it's left to you to be remembered for either good or evil.
P.s: Do you know that every time you throw away the opportunity to tell an unbeliever about Christ, It's like watching someone walk into a deep pit without saying anything or give any warning! 

You might have discovered your God given talent, but the question is are you using it to give back to God. You're a good singer... oh yeah, that's fantastic but is your singing attracting people to Christ or the devil? err you might be thinking right now ''oh, it's neither of the two'' so sorry to burst your bubble but if your talent isn't for the purpose to attract people to Christ then it's of the world and thus attracting people to the devil. You can't be an ''inbetweener'' You're either on God's side or the devil. we have to carefully make these distinctions today! the earlier we do and start using our talents to achieve God's purpose for us here on earth the better. Care to please God and not man!

'My Perspective'

...that's my blog title..  'MY PERSPECTIVE'
   err just to keep writing about my views on general stuff, I'm not anything close to the best writer in the world!! but just like everyone else I have a different opinion, and like every opinion, some people agree with it while others don't and in some cases, everyone totally disagrees!

I've never had a blog before, or written any 'beautiful piece' but I just believe I have so many ideas I should ''let out'' but I don't because I'm SHY and sometimes it's just the fear of me or my ideas being rejected that keeps me quiet! and this has taken the best part of me. I can hardly express myself, when people think they know me so well I always say ''No you don't...'' and that's the truth but the question that keeps coming to me is 'do I really know me?!' well, I don't...
OK, let me go straight to the point.... I'm here to find myself and break out of this invisible shell I'm in (if that makes sense), and of course there would be loads of random stuff and ''God stuff'' on here.
